Thunderous Prayer (Lisa)

Dear Lord,

I heard the first rumblings of thunder this Spring and it made me ponder Your creation, starting with the clashing fronts. The cold and warm airs made me think of opposites playing out in life, the soft and hard stuff, the hope and fear, the energy and exhaustion, one crashing into the other. It all gave me pause.

The way the crashing clouds break loose of their burden, made me think of difficult questions in life that end in decisive answers, resolutions that are not always trouble free. Most often, the rains must fall in ponderous amounts but You remind us to not be afraid, to trust in the eventual clearing, the bluing of the sky, and greening again of growth and new life. You are in it all Lord, the yin and the yang.

In this moment I am sitting with all the peoples of the earth, both near and far, known and unknown to me, all facing thunderous challenges in life within the confines of their own varied atmospheres. I cannot imagine getting through the tough stuff without having love in my life. I thank you, Lord for all the love that is in mine.

I think of all the weathering, the aging wear and tear that life has conditioned in us and still, we are all grateful to be here, fighting the good fight, against unexpected health issues and aging, challenging relationships that should be so easy, anxiety and fear, despair and loneliness. We are here for it all.

Thank you for all this Lord, the harsh clashing fronts and shocking claps of thunder, the tear-filled rains that come, the calm clearing that follows and today, I especially thank you for the thunderous whisper You placed inside of me. I am grateful. Amen
