The Way of the Cross Chaplet (Ann)

As I found myself saying how scared I was about a certain upcoming event, my eyes caught a silver object on the dining room table. I picked it up and asked my parents where it had come from (my dad had found it in a drawer while looking for printer paper). Neither one knew exactly where they had gotten it but surmised that it had likely belonged to my paternal grandfather and that they had brought it back from Florida after his funeral ten years ago. Upon first look, it appeared to be a rosary but when I looked closer, I noticed the stations medals hanging from the chain. My hands immediately found the fourth station--Jesus meets his sorrowful mother--and in that moment, I felt an immense peace come over me. This journey will be difficult but Jesus' journey to the cross was difficult as well. He knows the sorrow and pain that I am feeling and wants me to walk with Him to the glory of the Cross. I resolved to pray the Chaplet of the Way of the Cross daily with this beautiful chaplet and so many beautiful holy moments have come from it as a result. There is peace in knowing that I don't walk alone on this journey and that God will be sending holy moments to remind me of his love and presence. Jesus didn't walk His journey to the cross alone either--he had Simon carry his cross, Veronica wipe his face, and his mother to stand by him until the end. God sent holy moments to His only Son in his most trying hour just as he sends those moments to us in our time of need. All we need to do is walk with Him and surrender our brokenness and God will make miracles happen.
