Here is my Holy Moment story for my Dave- I had a thought that came to me so strongly two days ago. Our son, Dave, is currently in prison for crimes committed due to his complex disease of drug addiction. This Spring was his 35th birthday and the second anniversary of his latest arrest. Since he is confined to the walls of a prison, and at times he feels very isolated and guilty and sad, the thought came to me that I'd try to keep him updated on how Bel Air and some of the surrounding areas, that he knows so well, have changed since he's been away. I thought this would perk him up. So I decided to take pictures of all of the changes that have occurred that he has missed these last two years. It is amazing to really study all of the businesses that have changed ownership, or have gone out of business, or see the totally new structures that have been and are still being built. From stores to homes... times are a changing. I took things like this for granted until I started snapping pictures and I have about 55 so far and there are many more out there! Thinking about all of this makes me thankful for the changes, the businesses that are starting up and the opportunities for employment. Seeing the new homes and the families who are able to live in our community allows us to have more people to share Holy Moments with. Change can bring so many Holy Moments all around us, new people, new situations many Holy Moments! I know that when Dave receives these photos that he will feel the intent of my Holy Moment for him and how the Holy Spirit lead me to this thought. I know Dave will enjoy and appreciate seeing his town and enjoying this Holy Moment.
Love to all, Judy
So glad it gave you both a holy moment to share judy! Maybe its time to retake some of those photos to reflect life in the time of covid 19. Prayers today for you both!
Follow up....When our son Dave received all of my Snapshots, he thanked me with such a heartfelt thanks. We talked about some of the pictures and he was amazed at the changes in our beautiful town of Bel Air. It was as if he was actually in my car seeing these changes first hand. It’s been almost three and a half years since he has seen anything first hand outside of prison, so being his eyes was a joyous and Holy Moment. What a blessing!
I loved Snapshot the first time I read it! I hope your son received your gift and it's intention! Thank you for sharing!
