Shopping (Donna)

Mike and I went to shopping one day. When we pulled in the parking lot, we both noticed an elderly lady with a green shopping bag in hand across the street from the parking lot. She was standing on the sidewalk in front of a side door to another big name store. I watched her and she was moving a bit, but just seemed out of sorts to me, putting her hand on her back as if it was hurting her, all alone. Anyway, I started talking to Mike about her and this other truck pulled up to the lady, a couple talked with her and then they went to park in the parking lot. The gentleman got out of his truck, went over to her. We followed with a water bottle for her. She was really confused, feisty, and didn’t want us asking a lot of questions. The only thing left to do was call the Police, as you would be liable if she was harmed in your vehicle, charged with kidnapping, etc. so, Mike was on the phone calling the store security, so that they would call the Police. Luckily, they never answered because, there was an older couple walking across the parking lot headed towards us. It turned out that the Elderly woman was his Mother. She was told not to leave the car while they had gone into the store. The woman told her that because she wouldn’t stay in the car that she wasn’t going again. I felt bad for the elderly lady. What was stranger still, was that the Daughter-in-law was this little Asian lady. She looked at me and asked, “Do I know you? You look so familiar!!!” I looked at her with sudden realization and asked if she use to work at the Heart Rehab. She was the Head Nurse there at the time. She has since retired. We have kept in touch for 8 years at Christmas, but last year I didn’t send out a pic of the Grands, as my daughter said it was too late to process it in time. I was so glad to see her and reconnect. You never know what each day will bring!
