Painting (Donna)

There is something to be said for Old Age! Just playing and delighting in God’s humor, that I would be allowed to dabble in this new Passion! Years, and I mean years ago, my sister, Lisa, taught me how to cross stitch. I liked it, but found that I was screaming inside because I wanted to paint the scenes instead. My Dad was an accomplished artist as a hobby! He used oils. I use to watch him as he held his paintbrush above a dowl to steady his hand. My Husband is a really good landscape painter as well, with oils as his medium of choice. I never thought that I could, was intimidated, so I never tried. More years went by. A neighbor/friend’s daughter put an envelope in our mailbox for me. She had put stickers all over it. Inside were pics. One was a newspaper clipping I think of a ballerina. I felt that I just had to draw it! So I started making sketches for a time. I started writing poetry about the same time as well. For some reason, in my 50’s I got braver and tried to paint on canvas. I have been playing ever since!

I use acrylics instead due to asthma, but make them work.

It is never to late to try!

Just never forget to whisper a Thanks!

God is always full of Surprises, even this late in life. Love Donna
