One Body (Donna)

Updated: Aug 4, 2020

Hope you are all keeping well, staying safe in these turbulent times! I don't want to offend anyone, that is not my intention so please forgive me if I say it incorrectly...

With that said, I find myself with two songs running through my head these days. The first is one that I remember from long ago, "We Shall Overcome!" Now it is running through yours! :-) I keep hearing the slogan "Black Lives Matter" and then the refrain, (sometimes in my own head), "All Lives Matter" and both most definitely do matter! However, I think that the following posts that I saw recently on Facebook puts it into a perspective that we can better understand.

I can't remember all of the one post, but it went something like this: A woman was upset about something and in pain. She wanted her husband to comfort her and tell her that he loved her. Instead, he put his arms around her and said, "I Love Everybody"! That was true, but it still hurt her feelings. The other post is shown in the picture above.

Again, I feel that this puts it into perspective from a different point of view! We can understand maybe a little bit better, perhaps be more compassionate, more open to listening to our Brother/Sister's cry!

I spoke of a second song at the beginning of this! It is "One Bread, One Body": We are One Body, all of us, the Body of Christ! He is Lord of ALL, and when any part of that Body is hurting, we All feel the pain of it! Or at least we should! If we can do nothing else at this time, we can Pray!!! I will leave you with a Native American Proverb:

"It is no longer good enough

To cry peace

We must act peace, live peace,

An live in peace."

Love and Hugs,

Donna
