Mustang Parade (Ann)

One sunny, summer Saturday evening, my parents and I were sitting on the porch with my daughter after dinner chatting and enjoying the weather. All of a sudden, two Mustangs came roaring down the street to park in front of the neighbor’s house. He owns a Mustang so we thought that maybe a few of his friends had come over to talk about their cars. My daughter loves cars (and delightedly joined in with a “VROOM VROOM!”) and we enjoyed looking at the two new arrivals. As we continued to sit and watch, another Mustang came and parked in front of the house…then another…and another…until there were 14 lining the street in front of the house! Our neighbor came out to talk to the owners and thank them for coming as we puzzled over what sort of occasion could bring this type of parade and enjoyed looking at all of the different models from the porch. All of a sudden, the most beautiful bride came out of the house in a gorgeous pale pink ball gown. That moment was so breathtaking! My daughter let out an “Ohhh!” when she saw the beautiful princess get into a ragtop Mustang with the top down. As we watched the parade leave to guide the bride to the wedding, we couldn’t help but be swept up in the magic of it. It was such a special moment on an otherwise ordinary Saturday evening and one that I will treasure for a long time to come—the night that I was reminded that there is still magic in the world.
