Love and Protection (Donna)

The other day my husband left for work. It was dark out and I discovered as I walked back in the house that he had forgotten his water container. I called him and he said he would drive back to get it, as he hadn’t gone far. I grabbed the cooler and went outside in the dark onto the sidewalk. I heard loud voices coming up the street to my left, and since it was dark, I was a little afraid, so I backed up and went on the side of our camper. The voices grew nearer and louder. Arguing. Then the people passed by not seeing me. I smiled to watch an Indian man walking his bike on the street next to a young Indian girl (obviously his daughter) who was walking up on the sidewalk. They were in a heated conversation. Perhaps a teenager not getting her way, or pleading for what she wanted. I kept smiling though, as I thought of the Love and Protection that the father was showing his daughter as she was walking in the dark.(probably to school or the bus stop). How much more are we Loved and Protected by the Father! Sometimes in our frustration, because we didn’t get what we wanted at the time.
