Heart Stone (Lisa)

It was just there, sitting next to me as I pulled on to the shore. My sister Katie is a teacher during this trying time but she is always looking for the heart of things, the important things. She works harder at finding joy than finding reasons to be frustrated or sad. She makes me wonder how many heart stones I have passed by lately.

Katie had been out kayaking, being one with nature, communing … and it was just there sitting next to me as I pulled on to the shore. God’s love is like that, sitting next to us waiting for notice. It’s such a holy moment thing to do, to be still and be one with the One who made us and the world in which we live. Whether sitting in a kayak or your kitchen chair, I pray we look through our Katie eyes for our own heart stone. What is sitting next to you?

Even if it is a hard time, even if it is a frustrating time, even if we long for what was, whatever that was, LOVE is all around us.
