Hanging Medals (Lisa)

Updated: Oct 31, 2020

It’s the little things... she notices that make me open my eyes and ears and heart. Last year for Lent my sister and I started doing a version of EXAMEN, texting each other each day at noon our prayer of thanksgiving to God for our blessings that day. The rest we do in private but the text, at the same time each day reminds each other to do the EXAMEN. Reading my sister’s text ALWAYS blesses my day. One blessing was, “Dear Lord, I am thankful for a daffodil that fell down, probably from a squirrel. I put it in a vase.” Another day it was “Thank you Lord for my time in Ms. Opal’s garden”, a 94 yr. old neighbor who she takes neighborly care of, visiting, listening, loving, cooking for her and tending her flower garden. My sister is a precious example of being God’s ears, eyes, hands and heart here on earth. Today Lord, I thank you for my sister Donna who is Your eyes and ears and hands here on earth. Amen

POP UP HOLY MOMENT CHALLENGE…

Today I hung a medal of honor on my sister Donna. Who in your circle of family, friends or neighbors would you like to hang a medal on? Author Bob Goff, in his book, EVERYBODY ALWAYS suggests we hang so many medals on others that they jingle when they walk! Can you think of one person who especially needs a medal right now or isn’t expecting one? Give them one in your own words! If you can, bless us with the story! The world needs to hear your good words!
