God's Light (Donna)

Oh God, we need you more than ever these days! That is why I take such delight in each and every flower that you grace my garden with, and the glimpses of God’s Light that are all around us! People, Good People, taking care of each other, supporting one another, inspiring, urging on, instilling Faith by their example of Love for YOU! The following are just a few samples of the recent ones that I have been privileged to witness, with the exception being, the Indian lady in our Church. I will start with her… My husband said that in Church last week, after Mass had ended, an Indian Woman dressed in her Beautiful full garb, went out of the pew, walked to the middle of the aisle, got down on her knees, and walked on her knees to the altar! Another example of God’s Light which left me smiling was when my husband and I pulled up to the gas station and after the gas attendant( who happens to be Indian) started filling our gas tank, he walked around looking up to the sky singing loudly, his morning prayers! So Beautiful was that moment!

More recently, at the same gas station, an older(Indian gentleman in a turban), started giving us this sad laugh of embarrassment, as I think he said Good Morning when it was Afternoon. He threw his head back and folded his hands as if in prayer and my husband said that he must be tired but, the man kept talking and said something about a number on YouTube and from his words, I think I got it right, that he was tired, he worked long hours, and more importantly, he was so sad that because he had to work there on Sunday, he was missing his Day of Prayer, that he could only watch it on YouTube. It just struck me so powerfully! I looked at him and said, “Then you just pray!” and I folded my hands so that he would understand and then I told him that, HE, would understand!

Then today, as the middle schoolers were walking past our house after school, I just happened to look out my window and their was a Beautiful little girl with her backpack on. She bent down near our oak tree that is close to the street. I wondered what she was doing. She then bent over and picked a couple of the wild violets that are growing there. She stood up, carefully arranging them in her hand, went to the other side of the tree to pick more to complete her bouquet! So simple, so innocent, so uplifting! Love to you and your families P.S. “May the light that shines within you, outweigh the darkness!” Love Donna
