God's Invitation (Lisa)

Excerpt from Love Does, by author Bob Goff

There is one invitation that would kill me to refuse, yet I am tempted to turn it down all the time. I get the invitation every morning when I wake up to actually live a life of complete engagement, a life of whimsy, a life where love does. It doesn’t come in an envelope. It’s ushered in by a sunrise, the sound of a bird, or the smell of coffee drifting lazily from the kitchen. It’s the invitation to actually live, to fully participate in this amazing life for one more day. Nobody turns down an invitation to the White House but I’ve seen plenty of people turn down an invitation to fully live.

Excerpt from a text, by my sister Donna McGill

At night I read and then I pray. I take a virtual, slow, meandering tour of my garden thinking of all of the colors and sprouts that are coming up. The new growth! It gets me through the Winter!

It also Amazes me each time I see that old wood on a lilac or hydrangea, dry and brittle and lifeless and then.... a miracle each time of His Hands! Go out to your tree line! The leaves are off of the trees. LOOK UP though… those same limbs hold buds already! So do my lilacs and slower hydrangeas...There is Life and Hope.

Advent Holy Moment thought:

Maybe one way to prepare for the coming of Christ is to realize HE is already here. HE offers us an invitation each time we are blessed enough to open our eyes and greet the new day. Today I awoke to the drum of pouring rain, but like the hidden buds, I know the sun is shining just behind the rain clouds. And what a comfort to know that my God is present in the sunrise and the quenching rains. I am thirsty Lord! Thank you for Your gracious invitation! AMEN

Thank you, Lisa, this is a great reminder for difficult days! I try to walk my yard everyday to notice...what is now, and how it reminds me of what was and is coming! Just how we should look at each day! Btw, is that your nativity? I have the same one!
