Embracing Me Prayer (Lisa)

I have a beautiful friend who is going through a difficult time and she shared how grateful she is for all the love surrounding her but admitted that she often feels overwhelmed by it all, she just doesn't feel worthy of it and yet she is just so dear! Her prayer is for us all.

Why is it so hard for us to feel worthy Lord?

Maybe, we all need to pray for our dearness- for our awareness of it and embrace of it. It would be good practice because God holds us in an even greater love embrace every day. We truly are that dear to Him always. We are all that worthy.

I hope you hug yourself as you whisper aloud the truths contained in this prayer. Know your dearness. Feel worthy. This is for you.

Dear Lord,

I pray for my dearness, my precious newborn swaddled preciousness, that is me. I pray to know this, to accept the loving cradling of those around me.

I pray for the prized perfume of me, the scent of spring and hope that I bring into the room, into life situations and relationships. I pray to know this about me, to own it and embrace it.

I pray for the treasured trust in my face, in my smile and countenance, for the endearing way I put others at ease making them feel welcomed, wanted, loved. I pray to hold this for a moment, this notion of me, this worthiness that is me. I pray I love me a little bit better because You reside in me, in all this goodness.

I pray for all the loving landscapes inside of me, the vast and wide, beautiful beyond words, the peaks and the valleys, the darkness and the light. I wish to run away no more. You are in it all and it is all inside of me waiting for my embrace. What am I waiting for?

Help me hold myself in a loving embrace.
